Relax with a coffee, sweet pastry, and a history lesson!
Nestled on a lightly trafficked main road in Pacific Grove, California, is a lovely, family-owned bakery and café, called Café Guarani.
Monterey County, much like Guarani Café is a quaint unique location in near the bay area of northern California.
Home of the world-renowned Pebble Beach Golf Links and The Naval Post Graduate School, the area is a laid-back hodgepodge of retires, active-duty military, and those that enjoy all the ocean-side offerings.
Similar to the overall vibe of the area, Café Guarani is a cute location, that boasts an extremely polite staff, an outdoor patio, and a lovely little bathroom.
Before we rush to our thoughts on the bathroom, the Paraguayan Café is more than deserving of recognition. Paraguayans are known for being very hospitable, and enjoying a peaceful, leisurely paced life. Needless to say, Café Guarani hits all the descriptors.
The staff at Poopable do not fancy themselves as those that take part in the “snob culture” of particulars when regarding, food, drink, or even bathrooms… literally we, [Brady] will go anywhere.
Coffee at Café Guarani is indescribably outstanding!
However, this café raises the bar on coffee and pastries to such a degree, where we may need to take a break just to remain neutral. So, let’s just stand by the recommendation that if you are in the area, stop by for a quick coffee or sweet treat. We thoroughly vouch for this café.
While sipping on a mocha infused coffee that uniquely and delightfully tasted like no other, I couldn’t help but wonder the meaning of, “Guarani.” At first, one would think this is a Spanish word, but after a quick Goooog, a far more interesting story surface.
Guarani is actually a very old and fascinating indigenous language of South America. Originating from the Guarani people, who have inhabited the region for centuries, the language has deeply embedded roots in the cultural fabric of Paraguay.
Presently, Guarani remains widely spoken, serving as a one of the official languages of everyday life, literature, music, and education. Guarani is incorporated in schools and government institutions as well.
Fun fact: “Jaguar” is rooted from Guarani word “yaguar,” which means, “he who kills with one leap.”
After a coffee and a Paraguayan history lesson, a trip to the facilities was certainly in order. The bathroom at Café Guarani was certainly on par with the well-mannered, welcoming service and tasty menu.
The bathroom is single serving and spacious. It is relatively simple; however, it’s decorated in such a way where it makes you feel like you are relaxing after a morning coffee at home.
Perhaps this is potentially since much of the customer traffic in the area are retirees or temporary residents, Café Guarani’s bathroom wants you to feel comfortable especially if your stomach is gurgling from a pastry sugar rush!
One of the only technological qualities of the restroom is the Tork-Matic towel dispenser. Tork is a well-known brand that specializes in hygiene and washroom products. They offer a wide range of products designed for commercial and public restroom settings.
Tork’s product line includes toilet paper, paper towels, hand soaps, hand sanitizers, and dispensers. The staff at Poopable are no doubt fans of sustainability.
Which is why we love that Tork’s key focuses is on sustainability and reducing environmental impact. They have introduced various eco-friendly initiatives, such as using recycled materials in their products, promoting responsible forestry practices, and developing energy-efficient solutions.
Is Café Guarani Poopable?
Café Guarani is laid back, welcoming and has delicious food and coffee. If you are a pooper out there that like sugar and coffee, then obviously a trip to a bathroom is a near-future inevitability.
The bathroom at Café Guarani gets a resounding Poopable pass for its, at-home ambiance, ample space, and generally just a relaxing environment.
Many cafés have great bathrooms, but they are fall into the Poopable grey area because of heavy foot-traffic. However, the customer base at Café Guarani is more of a steady stream rather than a massive rush… which is generally what all poopers prefer.
If you are in the area, stop into Café Guarani. While you’re sipping on some coffee or eating a sweat treat, take the time to dive into a little South American history indigenous language history as well.
Do you have a favorite café? Poopable wants to hear from you! Comment on the post or send us a note! We always want to venture into new places and bathrooms!
