If you’re looking for a private event space in Chicago that is accommodating, friendly, and has ample free parking in Chicagoland, look no further than Wildman Boiler & Tank.
Wildman BT provides a space from everything from gallery events to weddings, all in a high-class-yet-rustic space, with flexible catering options and dedicated service options.
They also have bathrooms good enough to be a reason to book a wedding there.
I was lucky enough to attend a family wedding at this venue, and experience one of the finest bathrooms I’ve ever encountered.
The wedding itself, of course, was the perfect combination of short and emotional. The ceremony itself was less than 20 minutes, but there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. And the reception was in the same room, making it easy to spend the full six hours in one space, with drinks, food, and family.
Of course, a wedding that starts at 4PM and ends at 11PM will likely lead to at least one needed trip to the bathroom. And, dear reader, I am happy to report that this bathroom?
It was spectacular.
Here we have an artistic tapestry to guide us into the bathroom, which is meticulously tiled with lovely basin sinks across from urinals, and a series of extremely private bathroom stalls (so, basically, the opposite level of privacy as you can find 7 miles away at Graystone Tavern).
This is the kind of bathroom that you’d expect to see a bathroom attendant (which is the most awkward social interaction that has been invented). But Wildman knows better than to make that mistake.
But they also want you to feel pampered.
Who needs a bathroom attendant when you have European-style bathroom stalls and a basket filled with mints, gum, and body spray to help anyone who has overindulged (or encountered an emergency) at a wedding or event?
Wildman BT is unique in the city, since they don’t demand to provide booze or food to your event. They are BYOB and BYOF, and my wedding experience was filled with Weller bourbon and Big Star cuisine (don’t worry, I didn’t encounter any difficulties this time around).
For anyone who has had to plan their old wedding, you know the headache of figuring out food and drink for dozens or even hundreds of people.
So while that “bring your own food and drink to a beautiful and spacious event location” was a big selling point to the now-happily-married couple, the biggest selling point might surprise you…if you were reading a website not called Poopable.
Is Wildman BT Poopable
Here’s where I should point out that the bride and groom apparently decided this was the perfect venue for them…partly because of the quality of the bathrooms.
It may in fact be the most Poopable place we have reviewed to date.
It is clean, it is calm, it never gets in the way of the festivities.
To the team behind the amenities of Wildman, we tip our hat to you.
And if you have any similarly Poopable wedding venues, send us your suggestions so we can help other soon-to-be-wedded happy couples find a lovely venue with a lovely bathroom.
