1:5 Americas would halve their salary for a forever-clean bathroom
A recent survey of 2,000 adults in the United States reveals that one in five Americans would be willing to sacrifice half of their annual salary for a perpetually clean and sanitized bathroom. The staff at Poopable are wondering how much money do these poopers earn!
The research, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Microban 24, sheds light on the lengths people are willing to go to avoid the arduous task of cleaning this essential space. Microban is a brand of antibacterial cleaning products. It is designed to provide 24-hour protection against bacteria on surfaces.

The findings indicate that 25% of respondents would give up dining out or ordering takeout, while 23% would forgo their favorite show or series, and 22% would sacrifice a year’s worth of internet access.
The reluctance of poopers to clean may stem from the fact that 34% find their bathroom to be the most challenging room to keep clean in their domicile.
Unsurprisingly, bathroom habits play a role in the cleanliness of the porcelain domain. The major points of irritation for poopers include leaving toothpaste or makeup stains on the mirror or sink (30%), forgetting to flush the toilet (29%) and incidents of “improper use” around the toilet (29%).
No statistic on “hit the target” ratio when using the loo
The research also highlights social concerns, as 39% would be embarrassed if guests used their bathroom if it was not clean. Interestingly, 40% of respondents equate the stress of guests seeing their home in a dirty state to the stress of a day at work.
Despite these concerns, the survey reveals that 60% of respondents only prioritize sanitizing their homes when anticipating guests. Maria Striemer, a scientist at Microban emphasizes the importance of maintaining sanitized surfaces, particularly during the cold, cough and flu season from October to February. During the sickness season, 59% of respondents do clean significantly more often compared to the rest of the year.
Striemer advises people to focus on high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, bathroom sinks and countertops. She suggests choosing disinfectants that not only kill 99.9% of bacteria but also provide long-lasting protection throughout the day (perhaps Microban can help with that…).
The research also delves into the most annoying bathroom habits…
Almost 30 percent of poopers forgetting to flush… EEW!
Poopable believes that maintaining a clean and organized bathroom goes beyond mere aesthetics; it can significantly contribute to one’s mental well-being.
A clean dumper provides a serene and comfortable environment, promoting a sense of calm and order. The act of cleaning itself can also be therapeutic, offering a tangible and achievable task that fosters a feeling of accomplishment.
Also, a clean bathroom will likely encourages self-care practices! Poopers are far more inclined to engage in relaxing activities like a leisurely bath or a little gentle morning skincare. Essentially a clean bathroom may result in a pretty pooper.
